🙋♀️ Hi, I’m Federica, Paralegal at Scissero
What excites me most about working at Scissero is the level of responsibility you’re trusted with from day one. As a junior paralegal, I’ve taken on meaningful, high-stakes work much earlier than I ever could have in a traditional law firm, and I’ve been supported every step of the way to grow quickly and confidently.
🌄 Mornings: Live Deals & Priority Setting
My mornings usually start by reviewing the live transactions I’m supporting for leading private equity clients. I’ll check the status of negotiations, review mark-ups, and prioritise urgent requests coming in from clients.
We then sync as a team on deal timelines, deadlines, and workload. The pace is fast, but the collaboration is real: we rely on each other, communicate clearly, and make sure nothing slips when things get busy.

What makes Scissero stand out is not just how much responsibility you’re given, but how supported you are while taking it on. Talking to my colleagues is genuinely the best part of my day, and I love catching up with them. But I am also really grateful to them because they both inspire and support me to take on new challenges with confidence, learn from high-pressure work, and keep growing professionally.

☀️ Midday: Drafting, Negotiation & Client Communication
A large part of my day is spent drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts independently, including NDAs, engagement letters, and other key transaction documents.
I also communicate directly with clients, setting realistic timelines and explaining legal and commercial risks, even when deals are moving quickly, and pressure is high. It’s demanding work, but it’s also where I’ve learned the most.

As a paralegal in a big firm, I would not have been able to grow professionally as much as I have here because Scissero really trusted me and supported me in taking as much responsibility as I was able to handle.

🍔Afternoon: Lunch, Deep Focus and Legal Tech
After a quick lunch, I usually focus on pushing the most urgent deals toward completion by responding to comments from counterparties and managing last-minute changes.
Alongside client work, I also collaborate with our tech team on the development of legal tech solutions, including MIKE, our AI-powered paralegal. Being involved in legal tech innovation alongside transactional work is a unique aspect of Scissero, and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to engage in it so early in my career.

Afternoons are all about teamwork, reviewing code, solving bugs, and helping each other improve.
